The year is closing on high alert after a very turbulent week for the markets in the U.S. After the FED meeting on Wednesday, markets plunged after Powell decided to continue to increase interest rates and maintain quantitative tightening efforts. It appears 2019 will be volatile as the market seems to be pricing in the beginning of a bear market. Even though the market may be oversold short term, I think it’s time to enter the year with a conservative hat.
This interview with Stan Druckenmiller is quite long but very thoughtful on economic cycles.
We have been closing operations with Reservamos on all cylinders this month. December is a peak travel month for the world and Mexico is no exception. When everyone is checking out from their work, we are focused on executing and delivering our service when it matters most. Travel companies have to work the hardest when everyone else is on vacation, that’s part of what we signed up for. Until now, we have had a great season and hope to close out the year strong.
Finally, I came across this post by Ben Horowitz talking about the struggle of being a founder. Although we live it day in and day out, it is gold to read about others who have gone through it in the past (and succeeded) as well as remind yourself to take a step back. Being a founder requires a lot of mental strength to deal with ups and downs that change quickly and this post helps bring some of these concepts down.
Merry Christmas to all!
